Samsung Washer LC code: Water leak detected
The washer sensed water somewhere it should not be, or the water level dropped when it should not have. Many models start draining automatically and may lock the buttons until draining ends.
Most common causes
- Leaking fill or drain hose connection
- Drain hose installed too low or too deep, siphoning water out
- Too much detergent causing suds to escape
- Leak from the tub, door seal or an internal hose
- Faulty leak or water level sensor
What you can safely check yourself
- Look behind and under the washer for water and check that the hose connections are tight.
- Make sure the drain hose is secured and not pushed too far into the standpipe.
- Use only HE detergent in the recommended amount; run an empty rinse to clear leftover suds.
- Turn the washer off for 2 to 3 minutes, then back on and try again.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
