Samsung Washer error codes

The control board is not seeing the drive motor turn the way it should, or is not getting a signal back from the motor's speed sensor. Samsung notes that on some models 3E can instead point to a voltage problem, so check your manual.

The washer is not getting enough water, or not getting it fast enough, to start or continue the cycle. It stops and shows this code instead of running with too little water.

The washer could not pump the water out within the time it expects, or water is draining far too slowly. The cycle pauses with water left in the drum.

The washer cannot confirm that the door (or lid on top-loaders) is closed and locked, so it will not start or continue. On most current models dC means a door problem, but on some older models dC means an unbalanced load; your manual confirms which.

The washer sensed water somewhere it should not be, or the water level dropped when it should not have. Many models start draining automatically and may lock the buttons until draining ends.

The washer detected more water in the drum than it should have. It may try to drain on its own to prevent a flood.

The washer detected excess suds and paused to let them break down before continuing. Samsung notes this is not a fault by itself and the cycle usually resumes on its own.

The load has bunched up on one side of the drum, so the washer will not spin at full speed to protect itself. Note: on some older Samsung models dC also means unbalanced load, while on most newer models dC is a door error; check your manual.

The washer is not getting a sensible reading from its water level (pressure) sensor, so it cannot tell how much water is in the drum. Samsung groups this with its leak codes on some models.

Water coming in on the cold side is very hot, which usually means the hot and cold hoses are connected to the wrong inlets. The washer stops to protect your clothes; Samsung says this code alone does not mean service is needed.

The washer is seeing power that is too low, too high or interrupted. It stops to protect its electronics until power returns to normal.

On models with a small Add Door (AddWash), the washer cannot confirm the small door is closed and locked. The cycle will not start or continue until it is.

The control panel reads one of its buttons as being held down continuously. The washer may not respond normally until the button releases.

The washer found a problem with its built-in water heater, found on many front-load models. The water may not heat as expected or may be getting too hot.
