| 9C1 9E, 9E1, 2E | Voltage error The power reaching the dryer is not what it needs to run the motor and heater safely. The dryer stops to protect itself. |
| dE dC, d0, do, 1 dC | Door open / door error The dryer thinks the door is open, so it will not start or it stops mid-cycle. This comes from the door, its latch, or the switch that senses the door is closed. |
| HE hE, HC, HE1, HC4, 1 HC | Heating error The dryer detected a heating problem. Samsung's support page and newer manuals describe HC/hE as the dryer running too hot, usually from trapped heat; repair sources note the same code can appear when the heat system is not working right, so it can show up on dryers that run hot or dryers that stop heating. |
| tS t5, tO, t0, tC, tE, tE3, 1 tC | Temperature sensor error The dryer is getting a reading from its temperature sensor that is out of range, or the dryer's temperature itself is abnormal. On older models tS means the sensor is shorted and tO means it is open; newer models show tC. |
| 3C 3E | Motor / control error Samsung's support page lists 3C as a motor error, while some newer manuals (such as the DVE45T3200 series) describe it as the main control board needing a check. Either way, the dryer has stopped because a drive or control component is not responding normally. |
| AC AE, Et, EEE, AE3, AE4, AE5, 1 AC | Communication error The dryer's internal control boards are not communicating with each other. The dryer may stop or not respond to the buttons. |
| bE bE2, bC2, 6E, 6E2, 6C2 | Stuck button The control panel reads one of its buttons as being held down continuously. The dryer may not respond normally. |
| Clg Cg, C9, C90, C9o, C8, C80, C8o, Cl9 | Vent blockage test result These codes are results from the dryer's vent blockage test, not a part failure. Clg/Cg means the vent is clogged, C8/C80 means roughly 80% blocked, and C9/C90 means more than 90% blocked. |
| dF 1 dF | Door switch error The dryer is getting an incorrect signal from its door switch. Unlike a simple door-open code, this usually means the switch or its wiring is at fault. |
| FC FE, 1 FC | Power frequency error The dryer detected that the power supply frequency is not valid for it. This is usually a brief power disturbance. |
| HC2 | Gas ignition error On gas dryers, the dryer tried to light its burner and did not detect ignition. The dryer will tumble but not heat. |
| tC5 tCS, 1tC5, 1tCS | Second temperature sensor error The dryer's second temperature sensor is reading out of range. The dryer stops because it cannot safely monitor heat. |
