Samsung Dryer Clg code: Vent blockage test result
These codes are results from the dryer's vent blockage test, not a part failure. Clg/Cg means the vent is clogged, C8/C80 means roughly 80% blocked, and C9/C90 means more than 90% blocked.
Most common causes
- Lint build-up in the exhaust duct
- Crushed or kinked vent hose behind the dryer
- Blocked or stuck outdoor vent flap
- Vent run too long or with too many bends
What you can safely check yourself
- Clean the lint screen.
- Disconnect power, pull the dryer out and clean lint from the vent hose and duct with a vent brush.
- Make sure the outdoor vent flap opens freely and is not covered.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
