Samsung Dryer tS code: Temperature sensor error
The dryer is getting a reading from its temperature sensor that is out of range, or the dryer's temperature itself is abnormal. On older models tS means the sensor is shorted and tO means it is open; newer models show tC.
Most common causes
- Clogged lint screen or restricted exhaust vent
- Failed temperature sensor (thermistor)
- Loose or damaged sensor wiring
- Control board not reading the sensor correctly
What you can safely check yourself
- Clean the lint screen.
- Check the exhaust vent and outdoor flap for lint build-up and blockages.
- Power the dryer off for a few minutes, then restart.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
