Samsung Dryer dE code: Door open / door error
The dryer thinks the door is open, so it will not start or it stops mid-cycle. This comes from the door, its latch, or the switch that senses the door is closed.
Most common causes
- Door not fully closed or clothing caught in the door
- Worn or broken door latch or strike
- Faulty door switch
- Loose door switch wiring
What you can safely check yourself
- Open the door, remove any laundry caught at the edge and close it firmly until it latches.
- Look at the latch and strike for damage or lint build-up.
- Check whether Child Lock is turned on, then power the dryer off and back on.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
