The washer sensed water where it should not be, a sign of a leak inside the machine or at its connections.
Most common causes
- Loose inlet hose connection
- Too many suds overflowing
- Leaking door gasket or internal hose
- Cracked tub or dispenser part
What you can safely check yourself
- Turn off the water faucets and check both inlet hose connections for drips; hand-tighten if loose
- Look for water under the washer and wipe the door gasket clean
- Unplug for 10 seconds, plug back in and restart
