LG Washer error codes

On front-loaders, the door did not close or lock, so the washer will not start: dE1 generally means the door is open or unlatched, and dE2 means it is closed but will not lock. On LG top-loaders, dE means the lid is not fully closed.

The washer did not fill to the right water level within the time it expects. It usually means too little water is reaching the machine.

The washer detected that the drum motor is overloaded or the tub will not turn. LG lists this code for its front-load washers.

The washer tried to pump the water out but the tub did not empty in the time allowed. The cycle stops with water still in the drum.

This is a reminder, not a fault. The washer is telling you it is time to run the Tub Clean cycle to cut down on odor and residue.

The washer sensed that the load is lopsided in the drum and could shake too hard at high speed. It tries to rebalance and may cut the spin short, leaving clothes wet.

The washer sensed water where it should not be, a sign of a leak inside the machine or at its connections.

The washer detected a motor problem, and the exact meaning depends on the model. On front-loaders LG describes it as too much electrical current in the motor circuit; on top-loaders LG describes it as the drum not reaching the correct spin speed.

This is not a fault. The Child Lock feature is on, so the buttons will not respond.

The washer detected more water in the tub than it should have. It tries to pump the extra water out to prevent an overflow.

The part that measures how much water is in the tub is giving readings the washer cannot trust. Without it the washer cannot fill or drain correctly.

The washer lost power partway through a cycle, such as during an outage or a tripped breaker, and stopped.

The washer found too much foam in the tub and paused to break it down. This slows the cycle and can lead to drain problems.

The washer detected a problem heating the water or reading its temperature. Cycles that rely on heated water may not finish correctly.
