Samsung Dishwasher 5C code: Drain error
The dishwasher could not drain water properly, so water may be left standing in the bottom of the tub.
Most common causes
- Clogged filter or sump
- Kinked or clogged drain hose
- New garbage disposal with the knockout plug still in place
- Clogged sink drain or air gap
- Failed drain pump
What you can safely check yourself
- Remove and clean the filter at the bottom of the tub.
- Check the drain hose under the sink for kinks.
- If the dishwasher drains into a newly installed garbage disposal, make sure the disposal's knockout plug was removed.
- Run the garbage disposal and clear the sink drain and air gap, if you have one.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
