LG Refrigerator Er FF code: Freezer fan error
The freezer fan motor is not turning properly. Ice or frost around the fan usually blocks it, and the freezer and fridge can start to warm up.
Most common causes
- Frost or ice blocking the freezer fan blade
- Freezer door not sealing, letting moisture in
- Defrost system fault causing frost buildup
- Failed freezer fan motor
What you can safely check yourself
- Move food to a cooler, put towels down, unplug the refrigerator and leave both doors open for at least 24 hours
- Do not use a hair dryer or heat gun to speed up defrosting
- Dry the interior, plug back in and wait 24 to 48 hours for normal temperatures
- Check the freezer door gasket for gaps
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
