LG Dryer d90 code: Vent blockage warning (Flow Sense)
The dryer's Flow Sense system found that air cannot flow freely out the exhaust vent. The number is roughly how restricted the vent is: d75 about 75%, d80 about 80%, d90 about 90% and d95 about 95%. On LG gas dryers, a d80 can also point to not enough gas reaching the dryer.
Most common causes
- Lint buildup in the vent duct or at the outside vent hood
- Crushed, kinked or too-long duct behind the dryer
- Flimsy foil or plastic duct instead of rigid or semi-rigid metal
- Stuck or blocked flap on the exterior vent cover
- On gas dryers (d80): gas supply problem
What you can safely check yourself
- Clean the lint filter before every load
- Unplug the dryer, pull it out and straighten or replace any crushed or kinked duct
- Go outside while the dryer runs and check for strong airflow; clear lint from the vent hood and make sure the flap opens
- Keep the vent run as short and straight as possible using rigid or semi-rigid metal duct
