Whirlpool Washer Sud code: Too many suds
The washer detected so much foam that it cannot spin or rinse properly. It will pause and add extra rinses to clear the suds, which makes the cycle run longer.
Most common causes
- Using regular (non-HE) detergent
- Using too much HE detergent, especially concentrated brands
- Thickened 'no-splash' bleach
- Kinked or partly clogged drain hose
What you can safely check yourself
- Use only HE detergent and measure to the manufacturer's line.
- Switch to regular liquid bleach instead of no-splash bleach.
- Let the washer finish its extra rinses, then run a Clean Washer or rinse cycle with no detergent.
- Check the drain hose for kinks.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
