Samsung Refrigerator 84C code: Compressor lock
The compressor tried to start but did not turn (a locked-rotor condition). The refrigerator will not cool properly until this is fixed.
Most common causes
- Seized or failing compressor
- Inverter (compressor) control board fault
- Low voltage preventing start
What you can safely check yourself
- Check that the refrigerator is plugged directly into a working wall outlet.
- Move perishable food to another fridge or cooler if the unit is warming.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
