Samsung Oven / Range SE code: Shorted or stuck keypad
The control reads a key on the touchpad as shorted or constantly pressed. The oven controls may beep, lock up or not respond. This SE is on the oven control panel and is different from other Samsung appliances' SE codes.
Most common causes
- Moisture or grease on the touchpad
- Failed keypad (membrane switch)
- Loose or damaged keypad ribbon cable
- Main control board fault
What you can safely check yourself
- Wipe the touchpad with a dry cloth to remove steam, grease or cleaner residue.
- Switch off the range's breaker for about a minute, then restore power.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
