Samsung Oven / Range C-21 code: Oven overheating / sensor short
The oven temperature is rising abnormally high, or the temperature sensor reads as shorted. The oven shuts off heating to stay safe.
Most common causes
- Failed oven temperature sensor
- Heating relay on the control board stuck on
- Blocked oven vent
- Control board fault
What you can safely check yourself
- Turn the oven off and let it cool with the door closed.
- Once cool, switch off the range's breaker for at least 30 seconds, then restore power and try again.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
