KitchenAid Dishwasher Sanitize light blinking code: Sanitize temperature not reached
The Sani light flashes when the dishwasher could not reach the temperature needed for a sanitized cycle. Dishes are washed but not certified sanitized.
Most common causes
- Incoming hot water too cool
- Door opened or power interrupted during the cycle
- Heating element or temperature sensor problem
What you can safely check yourself
- Run the kitchen tap until the water is hot (at least 120 F) before starting the dishwasher.
- Avoid opening the door during the cycle.
- Reset the control: unplug the dishwasher (or switch off its breaker if it is hard-wired) for 30 seconds, then restore power.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
