KitchenAid Dishwasher F8E1 code: No water detected
On current models, the dishwasher is not sensing water coming in during the fill, so it cannot continue. Some models show H2O for this. On certain older models F8E1 instead signals a slow drain.
Most common causes
- Water supply valve under the sink turned off
- Kinked or pinched supply line
- Clogged inlet valve screen or failed inlet valve
- Slow drain on older models
What you can safely check yourself
- Make sure the water valve to the dishwasher is fully open.
- Check the supply line under the sink for kinks or pinches.
- Press Start to let it try to fill again.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
