GE Dishwasher C6 code: Water too cold
The water coming into the dishwasher isn't hot enough. GE wants incoming water at about 120°F for good cleaning.
Most common causes
- Water heater set too low
- Long pipe run from the water heater, so the first water in is cold
- Dishwasher connected to the cold line
- Heating element or temperature sensor problem
What you can safely check yourself
- Run the kitchen faucet until the water is hot before starting the dishwasher.
- Check that the home water heater is set to deliver about 120°F.
- Choose a cycle or option that adds heat, if your model has one.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
