GE Dishwasher C2 code: Drain blocked
The dishwasher kept trying to pump out water for about seven minutes and never finished, which points to a fully blocked drain. The machine usually beeps until you press Reset.
Most common causes
- Knockout plug still in place on a newly installed garbage disposal
- Fully clogged drain hose or air gap
- Kinked drain hose
- Jammed drain pump or drain valve
What you can safely check yourself
- Press Reset to stop the beeping.
- If a garbage disposal was installed recently, make sure its dishwasher knockout plug was removed.
- Run the disposal and clean the sink air gap.
- Check the drain hose under the sink for kinks.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
