| C1 | Slow drain The dishwasher took longer than expected (about two minutes) to pump the water out during a drain. Water is leaving, but something is slowing it down. |
| C2 | Drain blocked The dishwasher kept trying to pump out water for about seven minutes and never finished, which points to a fully blocked drain. The machine usually beeps until you press Reset. |
| H2O H20 | Low or no water The dishwasher isn't getting enough water, or isn't getting any. It won't wash properly until the water supply problem is fixed. |
| C3 | Will not drain The dishwasher could not drain at all. Water may be left standing in the bottom of the tub. |
| C4 | Float switch stuck After a power interruption, the machine filled twice in a row, which tells the control that the float switch may be stuck or failed. The float is a safety part that stops the fill if the water gets too high. |
| C5 | Pump-out time too short The drain finished much faster than it should, which usually means very little water got into the tub in the first place. |
| C6 | Water too cold The water coming into the dishwasher isn't hot enough. GE wants incoming water at about 120°F for good cleaning. |
| C7 | Temperature sensor circuit fault The circuit for the dishwasher's water temperature sensor has stopped working, so the control can't tell how hot the water is. |
| C8 | Detergent cup blocked The detergent cup couldn't open all the way during the wash, so the detergent may not have been released. |
| FTD F56 | Failure to drain The dishwasher could not drain the water out of the tub. This code appears on newer GE displays. |
| PF | Power failure The dishwasher lost power during a cycle. The code is only a notice and doesn't mean anything is broken. |
