The main wash pump, which also contains the heater on most models, is blocked or isn't turning at the right speed.
Most common causes
- Debris, glass or hair caught in the pump impeller
- Clogged filter letting debris reach the pump
- Worn or seized pump motor
What you can safely check yourself
- Turn off the dishwasher's breaker for 30 seconds, then restore power.
- Clean the filter and check the sump for debris.
