Bosch Dishwasher E09 code: Heater fault
The self-check found a fault in the water heating circuit. On most Bosch models the heater is built into the circulation pump, which repair references call the heat pump. The dishwasher may finish with poorly cleaned or wet dishes.
Most common causes
- Failed heater in the circulation (heat) pump
- Heating relay on the control/power module failed
- Loose or damaged wiring to the heater
What you can safely check yourself
- Turn off the dishwasher's breaker for 30 seconds, then restore power and run a cycle.
- Clean the filter so water circulates freely.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
