GE Oven / Range F9 code: Door lock fault
Something failed in the oven door lock circuit, the motorized latch that locks the door during self-clean. The oven may refuse to self-clean, or the door may stay locked.
Most common causes
- Failed door lock motor or lock switch
- Loose or damaged wiring to the door lock
- Door lock jammed by debris or a bent latch
- Oven control board fault
What you can safely check yourself
- Let the oven cool completely. Don't force a locked door.
- Switch off the range's circuit breaker for one to two minutes, then turn it back on to reset the lock.
- Make sure nothing is blocking the door or the latch area.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
