GE Oven / Range F7 code: Control panel (keypad) fault
The control has detected a problem with the touch keypad, most often a button that reads as pressed when nobody is touching it. The oven may beep, refuse to take commands or shut off.
Most common causes
- Worn or failed keypad (touch panel)
- Moisture or cleaner behind the keypad
- Loose or damaged ribbon cable between the keypad and the control board
- Failed oven control board
What you can safely check yourself
- Switch off the range's circuit breaker for one to two minutes, then turn it back on.
- Wipe the control panel dry, and from now on spray cleaner onto a cloth, never directly onto the panel.
- Make sure nothing is leaning on or touching the control panel.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
