How Much Does Appliance Repair Cost in Orlando? (2026 Prices)
By the FixPro Appliances technicians · Updated September 8, 2026
Most appliance repair companies in Orlando will not tell you a price until a technician is standing in your kitchen. We publish ours. This page explains what the numbers on our price list mean, what other companies charge, and the two questions to ask anyone before you let them in the door.
The service call / diagnostic fee
Every company charges to come out. In the Orlando market the range is roughly $75 to $130, and the national chains sit at the top of it. Ours is $79. The important question is not the fee but what happens to it: reputable companies credit it toward the repair if you approve the quote. Ask. Some "$49 service call" offers are not credited, and the labor quote makes up the difference.
Typical repair totals
These are all-in ranges — parts, labor, diagnostic credited — for the repairs we do most, from our published price list. Your model may land a little above or below.
- Refrigerator defrost system: $245–$350
- Refrigerator ice maker: $280–$330
- Refrigerator evaporator fan: $170–$210
- Washer drain pump: $200–$240
- Washer lid or door lock: $150–$190
- Dryer heating element + thermal fuse: $205–$250
- Dryer vent clean and airflow test: about $165
- Dishwasher drain pump: $225–$265
- Oven igniter or bake element: $200–$240
- Over-the-range microwave magnetron: $265–$310
- Garbage disposal replacement: $295–$350
Flat rate versus hourly
Flat-rate pricing means the repair costs the same whether it takes the technician 20 minutes or 90. Hourly pricing punishes you for a stuck screw. Ask which one a company uses. Everything on our list is flat rate; the only hourly line is extra diagnostic time on unusual faults, quoted before it starts.
What makes a repair expensive
Parts. Labor is fairly consistent across repairs — an hour or so of skilled work plus the trip. The spread comes from the part: a thermistor is $30; a main control board is $250. That is why "how much to fix my fridge" has no answer until someone knows which part has failed, and why the diagnostic exists.
Brand matters less than people think. Samsung and LG parts are not much dearer than Whirlpool; luxury brands are, which is one reason we do not service them.
How not to pay twice
Two things. First, a labor warranty: ours is 90 days on every repair, so if the same fault returns, the return visit is free. Second, a technician who says "replace" when it is true. A repair that buys a 14-year-old fridge six months is money you would rather have put toward a new one, and a good technician tells you that before you approve anything.
