| AF Check Vent, F4E3 | Restricted airflow The dryer sensed that air is not moving freely through the lint screen and vent. It keeps running, but clothes take longer to dry and lint buildup in a blocked vent is a fire risk. |
| F01 F:01 | Main control board failure The dryer's main electronic control failed its own self-check. This code appears mainly on older Duet and similar electronic dryers. |
| F22 F23 | Exhaust thermistor fault (older Duet dryers) On older Whirlpool Duet dryers, the control sees the exhaust temperature sensor as an open circuit (F22) or a short (F23). The dryer shuts off shortly after starting because it cannot monitor exhaust heat. Newer models report this as F3E1. |
| PF | Power failure Power to the dryer was interrupted during a cycle, or the control saw unstable voltage. The cycle stops until you restart it. |
| F1E1 | Control board error The dryer's main control detected an internal problem with itself. The dryer may stop or refuse to start. |
| F3E1 | Exhaust temperature sensor problem The dryer's exhaust thermistor, the sensor that reads air temperature leaving the drum, is giving a reading the control cannot use. Without it the dryer cannot regulate heat, so it stops the cycle. |
| F3E2 | Moisture sensor not reading The dryer finished several loads in a row without its moisture sensor picking up any readings. Auto-dry cycles may run too long or stop early. |
| L2 | Low or no line voltage The dryer is not getting the full supply voltage it needs to heat. The drum still turns, but clothes will not get hot or dry. |
