Frigidaire Oven / Range F10 code: Runaway temperature
The oven sensed a temperature higher than it should be and stopped as a safety measure. Frigidaire calls this a thermal runaway condition.
Most common causes
- Faulty oven temperature sensor
- Relay on the control board stuck on, so the oven keeps heating
- Loose or damaged wiring between the sensor, elements and control
- Damaged heating element
What you can safely check yourself
- Turn the oven off and let it cool completely.
- Reset the range by turning off its circuit breaker (or unplugging it) for about 30 seconds.
- Watch the next bake. If the oven keeps heating after you turn it off, switch off the breaker and stop using it.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
