Maytag Dryer F3E2 code: Moisture sensor not reading
The dryer finished several loads in a row without its moisture sensor picking up any readings. Auto-dry cycles may run too long or stop early.
Most common causes
- Very small loads that don't touch the sensor bars
- Dryer not level
- Residue from dryer sheets coating the sensor bars
- Failed moisture sensor or wiring
What you can safely check yourself
- Press Power to clear the code and restart.
- Check the dryer is level and adjust the feet if needed.
- Dry fuller loads, or use a timed cycle for single items.
- Wipe the metal sensor bars inside the drum near the lint screen with a cloth and a little rubbing alcohol.
Unplug the appliance before moving or cleaning anything. Do not open panels, touch gas connections or bypass safety switches.
