Maytag Dishwasher F6E3 code: Excessive suds
On current models, the dishwasher detected too much foam in the tub, which keeps it from filling and washing properly. Older models describe this as suds or air in the pump.
Most common causes
- Hand dish soap or laundry detergent used by mistake
- Too much dishwasher detergent
- Rinse aid cap left off
- Low water level from a flipped bowl or inlet problem (older models)
What you can safely check yourself
- Scoop out as much foam as you can with a cup.
- Run a rinse or short cycle with no detergent to flush remaining suds.
- Use only automatic dishwasher detergent in the correct amount and make sure the rinse aid cap is closed.
