Water has collected in the pan under the dishwasher tub and lifted the leak float. The dishwasher may run its drain pump to keep water from reaching your floor.
Most common causes
- Leaking door seal or hose connection
- Tub overfilled, often because of a drain problem
- Too much suds from the wrong detergent
- Failed seal, pump or other part leaking into the base
What you can safely check yourself
- Turn off the dishwasher and its water supply.
- Check for water on the floor and around the door.
- Use only dishwasher detergent, never dish soap.
- Clean the filters so the dishwasher drains properly.
