Jobs in your area are offered in the FixPro app based on your zone, skills and availability. Accept the ones you want.

Customers pay through FixPro

The diagnostic is paid online when the customer books, and repairs are usually collected when the customer approves the quote. No chasing payments.

We handle the customer

Booking, reminders, arrival texts, rescheduling, billing questions and follow-up are done by our office and the app.

Quotes in a few taps

Flat-rate price book, required photos and the customer’s approval, all in the app. No paperwork.

Parts handled by the office

Tell the app where the part is; the office orders what is needed and books the return visit.

Keep your independence

Work as an independent contractor in your own area, on the days you tell us you can work.

How it works

Step 1

Apply online (5 minutes).

Step 2

Short phone interview, then we verify your experience, tools, ID and contractor paperwork.

Step 3

We mail your FixPro kit and set up your app login.

Step 4

Complete the training in the app: how we treat customers from the first contact to the end of the job.

Step 5

Start receiving visits in your area.

What we look for

  • Proven hands-on appliance repair experience (references we can call).
  • The required tools below, a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
  • A smartphone with data for the FixPro app.
  • Photo ID, a signed independent contractor agreement and a W-9.
  • General liability insurance is preferred.
  • EPA 608 certification to do sealed-system (refrigerant) work.
  • A friendly, professional attitude with customers. English or Spanish.

Tools you need

  • Smartphone with data (iPhone or Android) for the FixPro app
  • Digital multimeter (volts, ohms, continuity, capacitance)
  • Clamp meter (amps)
  • Non-contact voltage tester
  • Hand tools: screwdrivers, 1/4" and 5/16" nut drivers, sockets, Torx and security bits, pliers
  • Cordless drill / driver
  • Shoe covers, drop cloth and towels
  • Flashlight or headlamp

Once you are approved we mail you what you need to represent FixPro on every visit:

  • 2 fixpro polo shirts
  • 2 fixpro hats
  • 2 magnetic vehicle signs
  • 1 box of fixpro business cards

Questions technicians ask

Can I keep my current job or my own business?

Yes. You work as an independent contractor and choose the days you are available. On FixPro visits you represent FixPro, and FixPro customers stay with FixPro.

How am I paid?

Per completed job, through FixPro. We go over the rates for your area on the phone interview.

Do I need to find customers or collect payment?

No. FixPro books the customers, and payment goes through FixPro, not through you.

What if my city isn’t listed?

Apply anyway and tell us your area. We open new areas where we find great technicians.
